Wendell Farquhar Trucking was first started in 1972 in Elliot Lake by Wendell Farquhar, a local resident and a man known as a pioneer in the Elliot lake Community. The company’s main focus for the past 50+ years has been providing aggregate for dam containment and various construction projects.  Wendell Farquhar Trucking has been involved in the construction and aggregate supply for dam construction for 10 mines within the Elliot Lake region.

In 1992, mine closures in Elliot Lake caused a momentous shift in the regional economy and in the way our company did business.  As a result, our team at Wendell Farquhar played a key role in the remediation of mine properties during the mine decommissioning process.

In 2003, Elliot Lake, through the Elliot Lake Act, acquired crown frontage property on 10 lakes within the Elliot Lake boundaries.  Since acquiring the land, over 200 lots have been sold and developed on three lakes.  Wendell Farquhar Trucking has been instrumental in building all access roads as well as lot development for the purchasers of these properties.

In recent years, Elliot Lake has witnessed economic renewal that has inspired extensive commercial investments including a new Hampton Inn, a freestanding Scotia Bank, a new Shoppers Drug Mart and other commercial redevelopments. Wendell Farquhar Trucking has been involved in these projects from site work and groundbreaking to finalized sight development.

Wendell Farquhar trucking owns gravel and quarry sources throughout the area and sources the finest products as required.
